This is a large daphnia feed pack (not a starter culture). Containing approximately 300+ live individuals, a good mix of adult and baby Daphnia to keep your fish happy. Suitable for aquarium fish feeding or just your school or university research.

Daphnia are freshwater planktonic filter-feeding microorganisms. They are commonly referred to as water fleas due to the hopping motion the make when moving about in the water.

Daphnia provide two primary vitamins that are of vital importance to fish — vitamins A and D. Vitamin A is essential for the growth and development of fish, and it also serves as an excellent anti-infective agent. Vitamin D is primarily responsible for the production of bone, and all vertebrates are therefore dependent on it.
